Phil went to Fulton Jr High and Kelly went to South Wayne Jr High so they didn't know each other at all before meeting in Geography class as new Sophomores. They were paired up in class on a small project and the rest is history. They dated, fell in love that fall and on 12/29/75 they became a couple. Throughout their relationship at BDHS they continued to date meeting after classes, going on dates or parties on the weekends and having conservations on the phone at night. Phil played basketball and baseball while Kelly was a cheerleader so cheering at the games always had a special meaning for her. Kelly and Phil were Junior Prom prince and princess which was voted by classmates. They were also in the prom court as Seniors and Kelly was voted 1977 Homecoming Queen by the entire student body. Both were very involved in Student Council and the Honor Society as well. Upon graduating in May of 1978 Phil attended IU Bloomington where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree as a Physical Education teacher. Kelly attending Ivy Tech and Graduated from Indiana Wesleyan years later.

They married in 1989 and have two children - Hilary, 33 and Scott, 31. Phil and Kelly have been together for over 50 years in total thanks to BDHS. Today they are both retired - Kelly from RCI where she retired after 38 years as Vice President of Operations and Phil after 35 years as a teacher and coach. Phil also started and sold a private driving school business called Elite Driving Academy. They currently live in Carmel and enjoy traveling, dining out, attending sporting events and hanging out with family and friends, many whom also went to BD.

Kelly and Phil met because of BDHS and have so many fond memories of school, activities and their friends. They enjoyed being there and love reminiscing about the memories and good times.
