It was a typical day in Doc’s Biology class…Doc started class by asking students about their interests, sports performance, hobbies, run-ins with law enforcement, and significant others. You didn’t want him to have any dirt on you - it would certainly come up in conversation later, so, when Doc asked me, “Mr. Tidd, who would you like to date?”, I answered honestly…”I’d like to date JJ Hinkle,” even though she was sitting in that class and a few rows behind me. Wearing his handy dandy apron, Doc perked up, crossed his legs while leaning back in his chair, looked at JJ and said, “Ohhhhhh, do you need any help with that?” We both assured Doc we could take care of it, JJ gave me a stern talking to about never bringing her up in class again, and a little over 5 years later, Doc and his wife attended our wedding. We just celebrated our 28th anniversary together.
