Former Ben Davis boys’ basketball coach Steve Witty has been named an Indiana recipient of the 2025–26 John Wooden Legacy Coaching Award, recognizing coaches who exemplify excellence on the court, in the classroom, and in their communities. Witty led the Giants to back-to-back state championships in 1995 and 1996 and finished his career with an impressive 266–68 record.
